the "uchi no 3 shimai" pinay experience

i'm currently working in a flash animation project entitled, "3 Sisters", under RnD and Toei Animation Philippines. the production here started on march 2008.

the anime, which is also known as "Uchi no 3 (San) Shimai" (literally "3 Sisters in My Family"), originally gain fame in Japan from a manga blog about bringing up children created by Pretz Matsumoto in 2005 designed to share her own experiences of motherhood. due to its immense popularity, a book form of the blog is published eventually.

the story is about a mother raising three girls: five-year-old eldest sister Fu, three-year-old free-spirited Su, and one-year-old spoiled-brat Chi.

the main characters are as follows:

Fu (Ohtani Ikue) - as the eldest of the 3 sisters she has a sense of responsibility and is cautious, but tends to forget things very easily.

Su (Kanai Mika) - second of the three sisters. Because of her free-willed nature, she does everything that she wants to do, and so Mother calls her "Libero" meaning "freeman". Has a bad habit of sucking her lips and pinching others' ears when she feels tired.

Chi (Kawata Taeko) - the last of the 3 sisters. Chi often cries and calls "Mama" whenever she is hungry or wants attention. She is unusually fond of food, especially bread.

Okaasan (Fujimura Chika) - The mother of the 3 sisters, as well as the storyteller of the anime. She is a manga artist (mangaka) though she spends most of the time at home looking over her children.

Otousan (Tsujitani Kouji) - Father of the three 3 sisters. He is very kind and looks after his kids, but can be scary when he scolds.

Mopusi - A house rabbit of the Motsumoto family. In fact, she is older than any of the 3 sisters.

i had so much fun doing this project because everything in it is just so kawaii and this project literally made one of my greatest dreams come true. noone could be happier if you will see your name listed in the closing credits of the show. being acknowledged as an animator of 3 sisters is already an achievement for me and a fulfillment of my dreams and wishes.
